A big-box retail store in Newnan with a PVC roof that was leaking into the stockroom and the sales floor. The roof was near the end of its service life, so the goal was to stop the leaks and buy the owner time before a full replacement.

The investigation found water traveling under deteriorated seams and under walkway pads that had been welded over the seams, plus a wall section that had never been terminated.

Scope of Work

Opened the walkway pads and seams to trace the leak path

Patched the damaged areas with new mechanically fastened PVC membrane

Reflashed the roof vents, pipes and heat stack

Readhered and terminated about 91 feet of wall flashing

Pressure washed and dried the work area

Applied a white silicone coating at 24 wet mils over roughly 5,300 square feet

Result: the leak areas were sealed and the section was coated over a single weekend, extending the life of the roof until it is replaced.
