A manufacturing facility in Lilburn with a metal panel roof and recurring leaks at its translucent skylight panels. The original panels had weathered and darkened, and the patches at their laps had failed.
Scope of Work
Removed and disposed of 10 deteriorated skylight panels and their old flashing
Installed new translucent panels matched to the roof profile, set in butyl tape with new fasteners and sealant
Coated the laps around the new skylights and sealed the nearby penetrations
Water tested every skylight to confirm it was watertight
Result: all 10 skylights passed the water test, and the new panels carry a 10-year light transmission and breakage warranty.
